V, a mercenary in the dystopian Night City, is hired for a high-stakes heist to steal an experimental biochip known as the "Relic".During the heist, V is betrayed, and to survive, is forced to implant the Relic, which contains the digitized consciousness of legendary rockerboy Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves).V and Johnny must work together to find a way to remove the chip before it completely overrides V's mind and kills them.(The plot navigates corrupt corporate control, gang warfare, and moral decay in the megalopolis of Night City.)
